How Will I Use STANCE?

STANCE materials should be implemented through a whole school approach.  The two most important starting points for a school beginning to address homophobic bullying are to:-

1.    Clearly communicate school vision through policy, and
2.    Provide useful and effective staff training

These first steps will provide a shared understanding of the problem, communicate a need for all staff to recognise and challenge homophobic bullying, provide staff with the skills and confidence to do so and project a strong and uncompromising school vision.

Once this has been achieved, the school will be prepared and equipped to create a more inclusive environment both in and out of the classroom
